It has been a dreich winter, and seeing blue skies & fluffy clouds this week has been a treat but now my phone is full of cloud photos because they were just too splendid not to snap. Case in point

A photo of a blue sky with a large white fluffy cloud, dark trees below, and a bird flying above. The cloud has a hollow on the left hand side, to which I had added flat teeth so it forms an open mouth, and have added eyes above. It is gazing at the bird flying by. It looks happy. Whether it is excited to see the bird, or excited at the prospect of eating the bird, we do not know (although they are not the teeth of a predator, so I suspect the former).

Another #throwback to another plushie I made two years ago with this little Nessie!
I’m really proud of this design with its nice mossy green, simple embroidery and red highlights. It was adopted instantly!

I've been away on a pretty successful research trip this week: functional public transport, very much walking, my camera lost and found [again]. This was the glorious, lumpy ridgeline to Beinn Narnain from A' Chrois, after a long ascent.

We aimed to investigate the legacies that colonialism, empire, trade and slavery have left to the University of St Andrews, both as institution and as a community of students and staff. The beautiful village of Portpatrick in the Rhins of Galloway, which looks out over the North Channel towards Northern Ireland. Its origins date back some 500 years and until the 1860s it was a major ferry port. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/portpatrick/portpatrick/index.html
