The Old Map Gallery<p>In 1976, The New Yorker magazine published Saul Steinberg's famous cover meant to show the perspective on the world of the average person on 9th Ave in NYC. Martin Kunz, director of an institute for the #blind in #Germany, created a series of #embossed #graphics of #plants, #animals, & #maps for the students, by soaking & pressing thick #paper into molds, & adding #Braille descriptions.

I esp appreciate this b/c my eyes & brain don't work well together, & being able to see & feel an image at the same time helps me to truly understand it. 💪
