And the journey starts ...
One week ago on the same snowshoe tour, with perfect weather and nice views.
Somewhere in Bavaria...
here‘s my submission for a macOS 16 Bavaria wallpaper.
Spent the day on a snowshoe hike in Upper Bavaria, ending with a beautiful sunset.
“Fleisch Bridge, Pegnitz River” — The Pegnitz River flows through Nürnberg near the Fleisch Bridge.
This photograph comes from our late-autumn visit to Nürnberg, Germany.. This is a large city, but we spent the entire time within the confines of the old city. We were there for three days, on a visit timed for the city’s famous Christmas market. It is our understanding that many regard this is the biggest of the German holiday markets, and it certainly draws a lot of people. Many streets were very crowded, especially in the main area of the market square…continues: https://gdanmitchell.com/2025/02/01/fleisch-bridge-pegnitz-river/

Midway through the stay we took a side trip to Nürnberg, the site of one of the largest and best known German Christmas markets. While there we saw much more than just the holiday festivities — there is a lot to see in this city…continues: https://gdanmitchell.com/2025/01/16/the-pegnitz-nurnberg/

4 Neuschwanstein Castle, Schwangau, Germany

With its Bavarian Alps setting, this relatively modern take on a gothic castle has to be seen to be believed. For hikers, there's a route beyond the crowds with even more spectacular views. #Hiking #Germany #Bavaria #Gothic #Castle #Trail #Alps #TravelPhotography #Travel #Blog #Outdoors #Mountains #Lakes
