They had worked hard all week, all four of them, in different ways because they all did different things.

And now they we were working -- together -- on a project that wasn't a project but a pleasure, a perfect time out on the bay on a sunny day of blue skies and blue water.

THIS particular project, they all felt, could go on and on and on without a complaint from any of them.

It wasn’t as if she were looking down at a phone – why, that would be . . . normal. Everybody does that.

No, she was staring at a LEAF! There was nothing to read there, no video clips, no news reports. Why would she do that? Wasn’t there something weird about just looking at something in her hands? I mean, other than a phone . . . what was she DOING?

Such as, the truth dawning on someone.

Sometimes, the truth hits us like a bolt of lightning, but often, it comes slowly, calmly, quietly into our thoughts, bit by bit chasing the darkness away so that we can see what we couldn't before.
