This article is very on point. Where my opinions shifts a little is that I kinda understand why BlueSky doesn't federate (yet). I thing federation is the best thing about the fediverse, but it's also its biggest barrier of entry. It confuses people a lot. So starting by not federating allows to capture a mainstream audience that Mastodon can't have for now. But BlueSky has to follow through with federating at some point, and I don't know if we can trust they will. https://pluralistic.net/2024/11/02/ulysses-pact/#tie-yourself-to-a-federated-mast
The fact is, I see way more content that I enjoy on Mastodon. And that's without any algorithm to suggest what I would like.
But I see more "media" I like on BlueSky.
I feel like Mastodon appeals to my niche interests, and BlueSky appeals to my mainstream interests. And I love both in different ways content wise.
