@cbcnews Your headline: “Should Canada turn the other cheek?” is so offensive that words fail me. We are not ever contemplating “turning the other cheek”. We are promoting #BuyCanadian, we are building new trade agreements, we are loudly proclaiming our Canadian pride and posting #ElbowsUp. You should be reinforcing this rather than trying to play devil’s advocate. There is no negotiating with evil, no pacifying a bully. #ShameOnYou. #FourthEstateFilth cbc.ca/news/canada/tariffs-ret

CBCSome countries aren't retaliating against Trump's tariffs. Should Canada 'turn the other cheek'? | CBC NewsFaced with tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, some countries have decided, so far, to respond by turning the other cheek, and not retaliate with their own duties.

It was not in my bingo cards for Buy Local to become a trend due to the sudden increase in unreliability of the US in trade et al.

But the climate and your local industry thank you.

HBC was started in 1670. Its downfall was accelerated after it was bought out by an American businessman and then an American equity company.

Another Canadian business was ruined by Americans. Why do we let this happen over and over?

As we push for #BuyCanadian, we must show disagreement for our most successful businesses getting acquired by capitalists from foreign countries.

The post reads: "Quite aside from the damage to goodwill, which is already incalculable, the US is no longer a safe supplier of unprocessed food, because it's no longer tracking outbreaks of infections. No sane purchaser will buy produce that might contain E. coli, dairy that might contain listeria, meat that might contain salmonella, and the US is keeping it secret. Boycotting American produce, meat and dairy isn't just a matter of Canadian patriotism, it's also a matter of public health."
