Coming from Poland, it’s my first ‘Made in USSR’ watch — a mechanical, hand-wound Slava from the 1980s. Apologies for the not-great lighting. The watch works well and keeps good time.</p>

I love its starbust dial, which is difficult to capture on camera, as it takes slightly different hues according to how light hits it. It’s perhaps my favourite in my collection.</p>
Riccardo Mori<p>Today's <a href="https://appdot.net/tags/watch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>watch</span></a> is an Oriosa (mechanical, hand-wound) from probably the mid/late 1960s. It's always tricky to get a good shot of it, because when light doesn’t hit the dial a certain way, the watch looks darker.</p><p>Info on the Oriosa brand are scarce. Watches with this name may come from the Austrian brand Ostersetzer & Cie. (registered in 1956), but Oriosa apparently also was a second label used by Buren, then Buren-Hamilton, for the Austrian market.</p>

Serial number and type of movement date this watch at December 1973.</p>

It's a generous gift from someone who prefers to remain anonymous. The watch is made by a relatively new Australian microbrand called HZ. The watch is the HZ.01, the first model they produced. Titanium case, sapphire glass, Swiss quartz movement. More photos and specs on their site. Repaired, serviced, and returned to me this afternoon. "Back to being amazingly accurate," said the watch repair gentleman. Not bad for a watch that's almost 80 years old.</p>
