Michael Knudsen %n%n%n%n<p>A lot of people publish their 3D prints, and that is good.</p><p>They're most often published in open formats such as 3MF or STL, which is fine.</p><p>However, it would be even better if they also included the source drawings, because for CAD stuff this is much nicer to work with because you can adjust the parameters that make up features instead of having to resort to guesswork about feature origins and parameters (e.g. dimensions and angles).</p><p>I realise sometimes people use unfree or closed tools where the source drawings are not directly usable in other tools, but it's fine: They'll still be usable in the original tools for the people that have access to them. You can also include a technical drawing that shows dimensions, relations, etc. so people can use those for reference.</p><p>Including the source drawings also lets people look at how something was made so they can learn from it.</p><p>Basically, I want all the good stuff from <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> for <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/Makers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Makers</span></a> in <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/3DPrinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3DPrinting</span></a>.</p>

I switched to PyCharm CE for my PhysicalComputing course last semester & it worked great, after the daunting (for newbies) setup & tio configuration.
